Oh man, he's all done!!
So, yeah. I'm updating my Twilight Princess Triptych. I started it a few months ago with Princess Zelda. So here's the second piece of our favourite hero, Link! Disclaimer: I know that TP!link is not, in fact, the Hero of Time (I've already been bullied about it on tumblr while posting WIPs) so you don't need to "correct" me on my Zelda lore. I may have only played a handful of Zelda games and only finished one, but I did do my research. Also, my roommate is a freaking Zelda expert, so if I hadn't been informed so kindly by random bully on tumblr that this is "The Hero Chosen by the Gods" and not "The Hero of Time". As I said on tumblr earlier, my reasoning is that “Hero of Time" is more succinct and less cumbersome than “Hero Chosen by the Gods" and in the interest of variety, I stayed away from “Hero of Twilight" because the third piece in this series of Midna is titled “Princess of Twilight." It would feel a little lopsided if the three pieces were “Princess of Legend", “Hero of Twilight" and “Princess of Twilight" Also, Link is fairly well known and recognizable as the “Hero of Time" even though he’s technically only the Hero of Time in OoT (as far as I know).
SO. I hope that keeps any other elitists who decide to try and tell me what to name things that I draw happy!
Now, onto the actual picture. Holy CRUD did I spend a lot of time on this!! I actually struggled A TON with the sketch because the original piece was giving me so much trouble straight on. Thank gods for my beautiful wife who gave me the idea to turn his body ~slightly~ to the left and that was the ticket! It still took me sooooo long to ink and colour!! Over 12 hours..... gods.... I THIIIIINK I'm happy with him? I dunno, I have to step away from him for a minute.... but I am proud of myself regardless! So.... I hope you like it! I had a ton of fun working on him!
